The show starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, along with Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her performance as Minnesota police officer Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated that Tolman, "calmly" and "assuredly" took over the show. Tolman was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress in Movies/Miniseries. In addition she was nominated in the category of Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes.
